12/13/04 . . . . Report by Sweet Vermuth
MISS - Taking a day off to deer hunt Uncle Mikey burried his truck in the mud.  Snooky couldn't pull him out and Uncle Mikey had to call a tow truck.  Now we know why you can't make a meeting!  CLICK FOR THE PIC!
12/5/04 . . . . Report by Snooky
MISS - After having a little trouble shooting trap at the turkey shoot, John Henson said he didn't know if it was him or the gun.  His son Andrew picked up the gun and shot 23 of 25.  Andrew commented, "It's not the gun!"  You gotta hate when that happens, ehh John?
11/21/04 . . . . Report by Andrew Henson
HIT - Joe sent the following reply to his striper story below:
Here is my story, but if you tell anyone I will have to kill you. I was reeling up my Fluke rig with a piece of Squid and a Spearing half way up bang there she was. Took a lot of line had to go get it with the boat. Jimmy thought it looked like a Shark and started to put the net away. I called him back by that time the bass was very tired and we put it in the boat. Little 2/0 hook hey it works for me!

6/10/04 . . . . Report by Joe Punk
HIT - Joe Punk caught a 30 pound, 41 inch striper.  However, Joe did not provide where he caught the fish.  After checking the Point's fish markets no one seemed to remember his face so we are assuming that he caught it with a fishing pole.  How about a story Joe?  You can see the fish if you CLICK HERE.
6/9/04 . . . . Report by Joe Punk, embelished by the webmaster of course!
HIT - Bill F fished with Jim S, Victor S fished with Frank Castro & Jack Barber and Victor's buddy Charlie (From work) fished with his son Kevin. Fished two days at Lake Carmi due to high winds making the big lake NASTY! Lake Carmi has tons of smallies (50+ per person per day!) but most are 1 -2 Lb class. Big lake yielded Northerns and Largemouth Bass in the usual spots with Spinners and spinner baits being the hot ticket. Smallies were also caught on our usual spots with Blue Fox Vibrax (aka Dinner Bells), Jig heads with tubes, Red Rattle traps and crank baits all being successful. Estimate each person caught over 200+ fish each. Species caught were: Yellow Perch, White Perch, Rock Bass, Sunfish, Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Pickerel, Lake Trout. Big Lake smallies averaged 2-3 Lbs. with several 4LB+ caught. Water level was at 97FT which is a little low based on past experiences there. Weather was great (other than two days with high winds)!
6/8/04 . . . . Report by Bill Fennimore
MISS - My trolling motor gears stripped a couple of teeth on Thurs and Jim and I had to use the gas motor for control that day and borrowed a trolling motor from Henry's Sportsman cottages for the last day there. Also ran out of gas on Weds night as we were heading back towards the ramp and used the trolling motor to get back to an alternate ramp. (Close but no cigar!)
6/8/04 . . . . Report by Bill Fennimore
MISS - More details of the Billy Fennimore story reported below are still surfacing.  Seems talk is still cheap at Al's Grill.  While driving home after the tire incident and some fishing, the pin slipped out of Billy's motor and it dropped down on the back of the boat.  Billy's shortened skeg on his motor is even shorter now, shorter because this isn't the first time this has happened!  But there is about an inch left according to numerous reports.  Maybe we could have a picture of the motor sent in.  Well anyway, good luck fishing in the future.  Perhaps you should get a fishing buddy who is a mechanic or at least a welder!!!
5/13/04 . . . . Report compiled from talk at Al's Grill. Oh yeah, Great breakfast at Al's!!
MISS - Billy Fennimore completed re-fiberglassing his boat for the upcoming fishing season. He had everything complete and wanted to test dirve the boat and catch some stripers in the Delaware.  He thought he clamped down the spare tire on the boat trailoer, but must have been mistaken.  The tire fell off while driving down the road, ran it over with the boat trailer and it hit the car driving behind him.  No one was injured in the mishap besides Billy's pride.  But the incident does give him extra credit in the Lame Leg Club.  Speaking of which this story was overheard being told at Al's Grill by and older gentleman (like really old) who is there every morning.  Good food there, eh Bob?
5/8/04 . . . . Report by New Egypt resident on Hopkins Road
HIT - On Tuesday, April 27, Bob Kelly, Sr., was hunting down Logan along with John Stutz. At 6:20 a.m. Kelly got his first turkey. It was a Jake weighing in at 16 1/2 pounds with a 3 inch beard and 1/4 inch spurs. This was the first thing that Kelly killed with the shotgun that he won from Fin, Fur and Feather during that most memorable deer week when he shot the biggest buck, won a gun and lost his pony tail. His pony tail was longer than the turkey's beard but Kelly was still around to grow another one.
4/26/04 . . . . Report by Webmaster Mr. Kelly himself
MISS - Chip, Todd and Sluggo along with Dinger, Maverick and Jake took Mike P. and his son hunting yesterday.  We stocked some chuckar and killed a few of them.  Then we got in to a big covey of quail and spent the rest of the day chasing them around.  Our guests had a great time with the birds.  The dogs did a great job supplying the points but only had a few retrieves but they were spectacular.  The dogs point well and retrieve well with birds but could not point or retrieve chips cell phone.  Last we left Frank at the club calling chips cell every few minutes while Chip tried to retrieve the ringing phone from the briars.  So if you hear a cellphone ringing in the bushes please answer it and tell Erika that Chips on his way home.  Anybody who would loose his cell phone would . . . . . . . . MISS - I think this could be classified as a hit.  (Webnote: NOT!)
On Saturday Rob Kelly and Half Day were working on the Kelly estate and of course the Mayor of Cream Ridge stopped by to give his approval of the job being done.  Shortly thereafter Frank was talked into accompanying John Lyber to the Cannon residence to retrieve a swing set.  After looking at the set Frank told John is was to heavy to lift and to go get the to drunks working on Kelly's house.  John complied and arrived at the Kelly's.  After some gobbling Half day and Rob jumped into the Green Machine and head to Cannon residence. Making a quick pit stop at Buy Rite to make sure dehydration would not set in.  With swing set loaded it was back to Lyber's.  After the set was unloaded.  Lyber decided that there was one more set he needed at the Nitchman residence.  Well what the hell.  Another stop a Buy Rite and off to Nitchman's.  After taking off only a few item's it was decided that a 10'x10'x10' swing set would fit just right in a pickup truck bed.  Half day in the bed Rob and John loading up.  All of a sudden "crack" then a voice from the bed "ahhh, *&*%, I was just going to say watch out for the window".  Well maybe the mayor doesn't always know the best way.  See John for pictures of the green monster.

5/11/03 . . . . Report by owner of the Kelly Estate

HIT - Joe Punk had a good trip turkey hunting in NY.  Killed a 21lb 9in beard bird on Thursday morning..  Missed a 30 yard pool shot Saturday morning  -  No excuse but it caught me by surprise.  It came walking down a hill in an open pasture.  Grass was 4 inches high and nothing else in the way.  2hrs later I had a bird coming to me 75yds out a hunter walked out of the woods and spooked it.  Sunday morning I talked to a nice bird for over an hour.  Could not get him to come closer than 50yds pasted up the shot and he walked off.  Lester and I had dinner with Gary Brantley and his friend Larry while we were up there and a good time was had by all.

HIT - Ray Mikulewicz caught a 15" brown trout on Boozer's tip up.  Boozer could have caught the trout but Half Day Ray knocked him down to get there first!  Should have fished the morning Boozer, Ray only participates on a half day basis regardless of the sport!  Dilly cut the trout (and his thumb!) open to reveal an empty stomach.  Shouldn't play with knives Dilly.  It's all fun and games until someone gets their thumb cut!!      2/10/03 . . . . Report by Jim Szeliga
MISS - Andy Rapos came out on the ice to see how we were doing.  While stepping onto the ice, his feet broke through to his knees causing him to fall on his ass and get soaked up to his waist.  Nice entry AJ.  Probably saw Dilly taking the beer on the lake!
2/10/03 . . . . Report by Jim Szeliga
MISS - This report is lagging a week,  After Hedgerow secured a seat on the executive board in the hard fought elections, he participated in the post election celebrations.  After a hot shower the following morning Mrs. Hedgerow saw the writing on his ass and had to scrub off the AJ style artistry to avoid further embarassment for Hedgerow.  So who else sees your ass?  It has also been said that the artist didn't remember anything and has been found not guilty by reason of drunken stupor!
2/10/03 . . . . Report by Mrs. Hedgerow

1/26/03 . . . . Report by Webmaster
MISS - This miss is about 2 weeks old, but worthy of note.  It seems Half Day Ray was seen by a very close neighbor backing up to leave the club one evening but failed to notice the dumpster.  You guessed it!  Ray smacked the back of his truck into the dumpster!  You think the custodian would know where the dumpster is located.  Anyway, Ray thought no one saw him and left the premises without checking for damage to either his truck or the dumpster.  Now dumpsters are really expensive and the local New Egypt dumpster authority estimates damages to the dumpster to be about $2500.  That's right Ray, you can't get away with anything here!
1/26/03 . . . . Report by close neighbor.
HIT - With a drive put on by Bill Lyden and Bill Fenni on the top thick piece at Wurmbrandts, Sammy Rapos killed her first deer, a nice size doe.  Nice shooting young lady!  Perhaps you can show your Dad how it's done!!  Congratulations on your first deer!  Being a good sportswomen, Sammy also let Dilly kill a doe too!  Nice shooting to both!

JERK - Was baiting my stand in Hedding Friday night ind drove through the Bordentown piece on my way home and was coming out of lost meadow and saw John Carter driving out from the small game piece.  He had 2 kids with orange hats and the same other adult with him that I saw the last time.  I pulled him over and he still insists that he has written permission to hunt there.  I asked him to see it, and he told me once again that it was at home.  I read him the riot act.  After some discussion in which I asked him why he continues to trespass, he said, "Look, if you want to prosecute me for trespassing, go ahead."  Iv'e been on the posting committee before, and you guys always post property that you don't have permission to hunt.  Besides, it's all over anyway.  Web Note: What a smartass! .
1/24/03 . . . . Report by Mike Sulish.
HIT - Chip and Fred went to Logan on Saturday and each killed a deer with Fred's new 20 gauge slug gun. Fred killed a pinto albino button buck and Chip killed a large doe.  Nice shooting fellas.  They also saw about 20 turkeys!

HIT - Uncle Mikey pushed Bordentown Saturday morning with Joe (the cable guy) Swigonski and Joe shot a buck which had already shed his bones.  (Don't worry, he is on the list.  In the afternoon.  Uncle Mikey took Joe to one of my favorite stands in Hedding and pushed an armada of 18 does right underneath him.  By the time they were done 3 more does were down.  Only 5 more days to go in 48.
1/25/03 . . . . Report by Mike Sulsh
HIT and 2 MISSES - Friday after a morning of frustration at Bordentown, Uncle Mikey shot a button buck at Hedding thanks to the now expert driving of Mike Sulish.  Unfortunatly, Uncle Mikey also missed 2 does.  I wonder if he should stop shooting deer at 120 yards running full bore through the woods.
1/24/03 . . . . Report by Mike Sulsh
MISS - Fred and I went to Logan yesterday.  Boy was it cold.  About a 30 mph wind blowing off the river. We did a couple of small drives.  Fred saw a deer near the reeds about 100 yards away.  Walked to within 50 yards but missed.  We sat for the last hour and a half.  Very cold, saw nothing.  We did see about 20 deer way out in the field just before dark. .
1/22/03 . . . . Report by Jim Szeliga, FFFNJ Roving Reporter.
HIT - Further investigation of the Mikey incident at the Fiordland's home Monday evening reveals that the tree has a market value of $6000.00.  Does Mikey have insurance?  Perhaps he could give Joanne his truck . . .Nah . . . Not worth that much.  Perhaps he could provide the Fiordlands custodial services at a value of $700 per year divided by the tree's value.  So Mikey would only have to provide custodial services to the Fiordlands for 8.5 years!  How's that Joanne?
1/22/03 . . . . Report by Fiordlands neighbor.
HIT - Monday night, upon leaving the club, Mikey went to Will F's to get directions to somewhere.  Unable to see out of his side view mirrors due to an accumulation of road salt and tobacco spit, Mikey backed over Will's 8 foot blood red maple tree while backing out of the driveway (Joanne's favorite tree).  Will is partially to blame because the Christmas lights on the tree were not turned on.  Right now the tree (with the lights still intact) is hanging on the pole next to Mikey's 4 pointer.  We tried plugging in the lights but they were damaged in the collision. . . . . PS Mikey got the 4 pointer with the muzzle loader.
1/22/03 . . . . Report by Fiordlands neighbor.
HIT - Ice fishing has been good. We caught a few bass and some pickeral on Sunday. Monday we again caught a few bass. I caught a 25 inch, 3.5 lb pickeral. Gave it to Art to pickle.  (We heard Art has a knack for pickling things as well as himself!)
1/21/03 . . . . Report by Jim Szeliga, FFFNJ Roving Reporter.
HIT - Chip, Fred and Jeff S went to Logan on Saturday and got 7 deer. Mostly does, a few buttons and one shed buck.
1/18/03 . . . . Report by Jim Szeliga, FFFNJ Roving Reporter.
HIT - Mike Sulish shot a doe and a button buck at Hedding on the frozen tundra, thanks to the great driving of Uncle Mikey, who has already shot all the bucks in the property.  The deer came right to Mike just as soon as Uncle Mikey passed the stand.  They were following him about 100 yards behind as he was making the drive.  Uncle Mikey drove a solid 2 hours and managed to rustle up a nice doe, which Dennis (10 weeks in arrears) Daly polished off with a box of OOO buckshot.  That's right 5 shots!!
1/17/03 . . . . Report by Non Stipend Secretary, Mike Sulish
HIT - Rumors have it that Uncle Mikey Mosier killed a buck in Bordentown recently.  Details are sketchy and conflicting, but it is reported to be a six pointer!  Gee, if Uncle Mike only had email we could find out for sure!  Nice shooting Uncle Mike.  Want to chair the picnic?
1/14/03 . . . . Report by Webmaster
HIT - Waterfowlers John Burick, Jim Szeliga and Wes bagged their limit of geese Saturday morning at Fairwinds.  Will Fiordland and Jeff Szalc also bagged their limit of geese by 0730 hunting in the corn maze.  If you read the internet advertisements in the fall, you would know where that is!  Second hint:  they hunted in sight of the tart cart.
1/11/03 . . . . Report by Jim Szeliga
MISS - While hunting at Hamilton Saturday, Half Day Ray Mikulewicz shot a doe. Thinking he pulled a great shot he shot another doe.  Too bad he missed the second one.  Oh yeah, it's also too bad the first one got up and ran away!  Keep your head down Ray.  YOU CAN DO IT!  Ray's disappointed friends tracked the doe and eventually jumped it again, but were unable to shoot due to the close proximity of the houses.
1/11/03 . . . . Report by Half Day Ray's friends
MISS - While hunting at Hamilton Saturday, Mike Cannon missed a doe that his hard working friends drove to him from between Rob's farm and the tracks.  Mikes friends were very disappointed that he missed the deer after their hard work.  Better luck next time Mikey!  P.S.  Mikey brought the wrong gun aand had to borrow Bob Kelly Sr's shotgun.  Bob said, "Now it has tainted with missing the first deer its shot at!"
1/11/03 . . . . Report by Mike's friends with post script by Bob Kelly Sr.
HIT - Ron Granai killed a button buck at Yellow Meeting House last Saturday hunting on a shotgun permit.  It was reported that Hedgerow Bob pushed the deer to him while he was hunting on the ground.  Hedgerow's do move!  And I thought it was vertigo!  Nice shooting Ron.  Nice drive Bob!

MISS - While muzzleloading the big woods I heard shots fired from across the Lee farm.  I saw Jeff Szalc's truck parked and after not seeing any deer I drove around to Spring Road to try out my new deer buggy.  No one was around so I drove to the club.  Jeff, hunting with the President, claimed the deer were very small and running very fast!

MISS - ? - I finally got my Big Ten officially scored by Fish and Game in Trenton on Dec. 19 to get it/me put in New Jersey's record books.  Minimum score is 125.  Rob had green scored it (him not being an official/professional scorer) at 129 6/8.  Fish and Game scorers ended with 124 4/8.  That's a half-inch too short to make it in the record books. If only he had eaten a couple more acorns during those formative months.  Oh well, he'll always be a record class trophy to me, in spite of what NJ Fish and Game says.
Our advice for Sr. is don't listen to Jr.!  But you are still our HERO!!!

12/21/02 . . . . Reported by Bob Kelly Sr.

HIT - Another day for Joe Punk sighting in the muzzleloader.  Seems Joe found the trouble, the crosshairs on his Tasco were shifting each time he shot the gun.  So every time he zeroed it back on the next shot would shift the crosshairs again!  Glad you found the trouble.  Joe was not the first one to have trouble with the same scope.  Yours truly also had the same problem last year.   Conclusion: Don't buy a Tasco scope, it's not worth the aggravation!......
12/8/02 . . . . Report from Joe Punk with input from Webmaster
HIT - John Burick and myself set out for snow geese today. After setting up in a corn field and covering ourselves with stalks.....and eventually a lot of snow, the geese circled and then landed in the adjacent corn field. With no geese in the air, we headed to the woods that separated the two fields. Crawling through the weeds and cattails and hoping that the ice below us wouldn't break, we reached the edge of the field. The geese spotted us and began to fly. Each of us shot a mature snow goose. It was a wet and cold hunt but a memorable one. My first snow goose. John is my newest hero......
12/5/02 . . . . Report from Jim Szeliga
HIT - I can’t believe it that is the 3rd buck I missed during black powder season in 3 years from the same tree.  After 3 hours of no success at the range yesterday I took the scope back and got a new one.  It works much better.  Went for black fish today caught our limit plus 1 28 inch striped bass.
12/5/02 . . . . Report from Joe Punk
MISS - This report is not a duplicate of the next MISS listed below.  Joe Punk was seen sighting in his muzzleloader again Tuesday around noon at the club.  Seems Joe missed a another deer Tuesday while hunting a secret place in Freehold.  Then Joe left his glasses and ramrod on the range.  So how about some striper fishing Joe?  Perhaps you could contact one of the state instructors to help you adjust the sights on that chunk of iron you carry around the woods?  Your not making Art's gang look very good!  (Sorry Joe, I got carried away!)

12/2/02 . . . . Reported by Webmaster
MISS - After Dick and Boozer killed bucks Monday morning, Joe Demuth thought he had no chance of seeing a buck in the evening.  Anyway he went out to his stand and had a big buck come 20 yards away.  Joe took careful aim through the scope, pulled the trigger, SNAP! No boom.  The buck didn't move.  Thinking it was a misfire he put on another cap, SNAP! No Boom.  The buck is still here and another cap it tried, SNAP! No Boom.  The buck moves out to 40 yards, another cap, another SNAP!  The buck left!  Joe checked his barrel and it seems he forgot powder and a bullet!  That's a Second Verse!  At least he dosen't have to sight the gun in!  Nominations for his new nickname have been rolling in.  Choices are Smokeless Joe, No Load Joe but my vote is going for SNAP!  Better luck Tuesday Joe.
